ABOUT THE PLAY

An unconventional theatre piece, UN will be first of its kind in Singapore. The story will revolve around the pivotal character Vincent, who dies in a fatal incident.  Mystery starts a year after his death where a soul is taken away in the same school Vincent went to. This strange coincidence occurred for several years. Years later, one of the students in the school gets possessed and reveals the past. The truth unfolds of a relationship between Mrs Smitha, the counsellor and Vincent in their younger days. Unfortunately he faces a mysterious death too. After years, Joseph, who experiences the dead – clairvoyance, enrolls as a student at the school currently. He experiences things and sees the unexplained around the school. He opens up to the new counsellor Mr Young, about his special ability.

Various parts of the plot are narrated by Joseph and a student through flashbacks presented in multimedia.  Each time a different Asian ghost and its background will be explored in different scenes. The ghost will appear in unexpected moments, giving a scare to the audience. Audience will be involved as part of the play. For instance, ghosts portrayed in the play will whisper a message to the audience meant to be passed to the main character. The facilitator and actors will communicate with audience and get them involved in the process consistently. The actions of the audience could lead to the death or escape of the next possible victim.

The audience will be taken to different locations within the school as the plot develops. At each location, the mood and setting will be different and according to the plot. Heavy play of lighting and sounds will be crucial in the play.  Audience will be given a 5D experience of feeling the wind and passing of actors, seeing blood and play of lights, hearing spooky sounds and voices, smelling the atmosphere of a rundown building. Since the play is already brought to the actual sets, audience will be able to connect with the place and the actors’ emotions in high intensity. The costumes and special effects make up will suit the theme, story and will add realism. Audience will feel that they are part of the play rather than just being an audience. UN is sure to bring the audience on a ride that they have never been on or would have expected.
